Can you believe it is the first day of May? The first Saturday in May is the day of the Kentucky Derby each year. So you may have guessed by now – this weeks OPP is a DIY tutorial has something to do with the derby. All about those crazy-fantastic hats and fascinators, to be more clear.
TODAY shared a great DIY video yesterday about making your own Fascinator. This really is a fast and a very pretty one. Check out Tara Lapinski’s how-to video right here. I’d wear that one for sure. Maybe next year I’ll have the girls over and we will have a fascinator crafting party?!
Now, If you are really serious about making a hat or fascinator, check out Heidi Potter’s how-to over at Style Blue Print. It’s great. It’s also for those super down with this concept because according to the article crafters spend about $150 on making those hats!
I don’t normally follow horse races, but I’ll go ahead and choose my favorite and be a good sport. Carpe Diem is the one I pick to win this year. What is my super-professional horse selecting criteria? Well, Giants Causeway is listed as sire and I am obsessed with Ireland. Simple as that. 😜 How bout you, have a favorite for this year? (Find the race info here and choose your favorite.)
Oh, and for those of you that are new around here, OPP stands for Other Peoples Projects. Be sure to check out some of the past week’s OPP’s while you visit.
